Notes

'Brigela' weigela (Weigela Florida 'Brigela') is a shrub for borders, hedges, specimens, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Red flowers open in spring and again in summer, and they attract hummingbirds, butterflies, and bees. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. Its arching form is also salt tolerant.

Pairs well with Limelight hydrangea, Golden Tiara hosta, and Standing Ovation little bluestem.
