Notes

'Brimstone' heath aster (Symphyotrichum ericoides 'Brimstone') is a perennial for borders, cottage gardens, rock gardens, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to average, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It tolerates drought, and butterflies and bees visit the autumn blooms. Deer rarely make it their first choice. Give the plants room so the stems stay upright.

Pairs well with Blanket flower, Paprika yarrow, and Foxtail barley.
