Notes

Broad leaf goldenrod (Solidago flexicaulis) is a perennial for borders, low maintenance beds, and naturalized areas. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Its yellow flowers draw butterflies and bees, and birds visit for the seeds. Deer rarely make it their first choice. It is adapted to dry conditions, so it does not need mulching.

Pairs well with Aromatic aster, Sedge, and Royal fern.
