Notes

Stiff goldenrod (Solidago rigida) is a perennial for borders, meadows, and naturalized areas. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and dry to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Dark yellow flowers attract butterflies, bees, and birds. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. It self-seeds heavily and may be too aggressive for small areas, so give it room.

Pairs well with Little bluestem, Rough gayfeather, and Sweet coneflower.
