Notes

'Bruce Varner' peony (Paeonia 'Bruce Varner') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen use. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Strong stems hold the six-inch, light pink and dark red blooms, and bees and butterflies visit them. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. D. Steve Varner bred it and named it for his son.

Pairs well with Guacamole hosta, Incrediball hydrangea, Nodding onion, and Blue grama.
