Notes

'Burgundy' blanket flower (Gaillardia grandiflora 'Burgundy') is a perennial for borders, pollinator gardens, and containers. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to average, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. It forms a mounding clump with gray-green foliage, and butterflies and bees visit the flowers. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. Drought and salt do not bother it, so it needs little care.

Pairs well with Stella de Oro daylily, Sapphire alpine oatgrass, Dense blazing star, and Hidcote lavender.
