Notes
'Caerulea' suksdorf's large camas (Camassia leichtlinii 'Caerulea') is a perennial for borders and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. It bears blue flowers on stems that reach 24 to 36 inches tall, and bees visit the blooms. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. Plants spread 12 to 24 inches, so give each one room.
Pairs well with Purple Sensation ornamental onion, The Chatelaine lupine, and China Pink tulip.
