Notes

'Alba' suksdorf's large camas (Camassia leichtlinii 'Alba') is a perennial for borders and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. This species is larger and more stately than C. quamash, and it tolerates clay-heavy garden soils. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. Bees visit the white to cream blooms.

Pairs well with Purple Sensation ornamental onion, The Chatelaine lupine, and Marsh spurge.
