Notes

'Blue Melody' small camas (Camassia quamash 'Blue Melody') is a perennial for borders and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Starry blue flowers open in spring on slender stems above white-edged, variegated leaves. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. The plant goes dormant by summer, so mix it with plants that fill the gap.

Pairs well with The Chatelaine lupine, China Pink tulip, Purple Sensation ornamental onion, and Marsh spurge.
