'Caiyun Fei' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Caiyun Fei') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Loose white cups with purple flares open in late spring on stems up to 59 inches tall. The foliage may be more interesting than the flower, since new leaves emerge yellow and green. Lianying Wang bred it.
Pairs well with Siberian iris, Toad lily, and Queen of Night tulip.
