Notes
California fescue (Festuca californica) is a grass for borders, containers, and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and dry to average, loamy or clay soil. It forms a large bunchgrass with drooping, narrow leaves that reach up to 4 ft. in height. Deer tend to pass it by. Butterflies visit the flowers.
Pairs well with Seaside daisy, Douglas iris, and Bay laurel.
