Notes

'California' rose (Rosa 'California') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and containers. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full sun and loamy or clay soil. The bushy plant has glossy, leathery foliage and fragrant orange blend blooms. Bees visit the flowers from late spring into early autumn. Frederick Huber Howard bred it in 1940.
