Notes

'Callaloo' amaranth (Amaranthus tricolor 'Callaloo') is an annual for borders and food gardens. Frost will kill it, so set it out only after the last frost in spring. This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. It matures in about 40 days from seed. It is open-pollinated, so you can save seed from year to year. It is also drought tolerant and needs little care.

Pairs well with Chinese mustard, Zucchini, and Pacific Beauty calendula.
