Carnival amaranth

Notes

'Carnival' amaranth (Amaranthus tricolor 'Carnival') is an annual for borders, containers, and vertical accents in the garden. Frost will kill it, so set it out only after the last frost in spring. This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist soil. Its leaves show fiery yellows, reds, and bronzes, and it grows up to four feet tall. Purple flower spikes open in late summer and turn into attractive seed heads that bees visit.

Pairs well with Cornel Bronze dahlia, Citronella grass, and Chenille plant.
