Notes

'Canary' peony (Paeonia 'Canary') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. The fragrant yellow blooms have dark red flares and attract butterflies. Arthur Percy Saunders introduced it in 1940. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits.

Pairs well with Korean spice viburnum, Earth Angel hosta, and Star Gazer lily.
