Notes
'Candlelight' peony (Paeonia 'Candlelight') is a perennial for borders, cottage gardens, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The fragrant, golden ivory flowers have a center of crimson and yellow stamens. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. Saunders bred it in 1949.
Pairs well with Sum and Substance hosta, Annabelle hydrangea, Nodding onion, and Standing Ovation little bluestem.
