Notes
'Candy Apple' peony (Paeonia 'Candy Apple') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average moisture. Big double blooms have deep magenta-red petals and yellow stamens, and the compact plants need no staking. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. Donald Robert Smith bred it.
Pairs well with Autumn Frost hosta, Clustered bellflower, and Black Hero tulip.
