Notes

'Capenoch Star' sunflower (Helianthus 'Capenoch Star') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, pollinator gardens, and meadows. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil. Bright yellow rays surround deeper yellow centers in early to late summer and again in early to late autumn. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. Butterflies, bees, and birds visit the blooms.

Pairs well with Big bluestem, Joe-pyeweed, and Prairie Sun rudbeckia.
