Notes

'Capriccio' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Capriccio') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its large Japanese form blooms in late spring. The pale pink outer petals turn cream with age, and the center holds cream, yellow, and gold staminodes. Mrs. Walter Campbell Lyman bred it.

Pairs well with Spanish bluebell, Sensitive fern, and Sedge.
