Notes

Cardinal climber (Ipomoea sloteri) is a vine for containers, annual beds, and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Red flowers attract butterflies and hummingbirds. It can climb 120 to 180 inches tall, so give it a trellis or other support. It sits low on the menu for deer.

Pairs well with Dropmore Scarlet honeysuckle, Ageratum, and Tall fescue.
