Carmen Hass avocado

Garden uses

Notes

'Carmen Hass' avocado (Persea americana 'Carmen Hass') is a tree for the food garden. It grows outdoors year-round in USDA zone 9 and warmer, down to about 20°F (-7°C). In colder areas, grow it as a houseplant or bring it indoors for winter. This plant likes full or part sun. It is grown for creamy fruit that ripens one to two months earlier than Hass and can give two crops per year. Plant a B Type nearby for cross pollination, and give this vigorous tree some space.

Pairs well with Cycad, Staghorn fern, and Arabian jasmine.
