Notes
'Gem' avocado (Persea americana 'Gem') is a tree for fruit production, containers, and small gardens. It grows outdoors year-round in USDA zone 9 and warmer, down to about 20°F (-7°C). In colder areas, grow it as a houseplant or bring it indoors for winter. This plant likes full or part sun. This avocado is grown for rich, creamy fruit with black skin and golden dots. The tree is semi-compact and vase shaped. It is an A Type, so plant a B Type nearby to get fruit on both trees.
Pairs well with Saucer magnolia, Paintbrush, and Miscanthus.
