Notes
'Hass' avocado (Persea americana 'Hass') is a tree for the food garden. It grows outdoors year-round in USDA zone 9 and warmer, down to about 20°F (-7°C). In colder areas, grow it as a houseplant or bring it indoors for winter. This plant likes full or part sun. It is grown for creamy, buttery fruit with green, pebbly skin that turns black when ripe. Hass is an A Type, so it needs a B Type nearby for cross pollination.
Pairs well with Golden Delicious apple, Calendula, and Switchgrass.
