Fuerte avocado

Garden uses

Notes

'Fuerte' avocado (Persea americana 'Fuerte') is a tree for the food garden. It grows outdoors year-round in USDA zone 9 and warmer, down to about 20°F (-7°C). In colder areas, grow it as a houseplant or bring it indoors for winter. This plant likes full or part sun. It is grown for green fruit with medium thin skin and buttery flesh of excellent quality. The fruit ripens from November to June. You need an A Type avocado nearby for cross pollination, since this tree is a B Type.

Pairs well with Pink Lemonade blueberry, Taro, and Spicebush.
