Notes
'Carmen' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Carmen') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It grows tall and upright, with strong red stems and light green leaves. Large light pink flowers with crimson flecks open in early summer and fade to a lighter shade. Victor Lemoine bred it in 1898.
Pairs well with Spotted dead nettle, Sensitive fern, and Sedge.
