Notes

'Carrara' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Carrara') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The fragrant flowers open white in early summer and stay white, with yellow edging on the staminodes. Good stems make it a fine choice for cutting. Myron D. Bigger bred it in 1952.

Pairs well with Spotted dead nettle, Ostrich fern, and Blue sage.
