Notes

'Carthago' peony (Paeonia 'Carthago') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Double yellow flowers have a citrus fragrance and frilled outer petals. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. Stems may need support when the flowers open fully.

Pairs well with Golden Tiara hosta, Phantom panicle hydrangea, and Blonde Ambition blue grama.
