Notes
Cedarglade St. John's-wort (Hypericum frondosum) is a shrub for pollinator gardens, hedges, rock gardens, and foundation plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy or loamy soil. Large yellow flowers with many stamens open from early to late summer and attract butterflies and bees. The blue-green leaves turn yellow-green in fall. It grows into a dense, rounded mound about 3 feet tall.
Pairs well with Prairie dropseed, Creeping phlox, and Mountain laurel.
