Notes

Sweet-amber (Hypericum androsaemum) is a shrub for borders, hedges, and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist soil of most types. Deer tend to pass it by. It grows fast and forms a clumping mound with variegated leaves. Yellow flowers open in spring and again in summer, and birds visit the plant.

Pairs well with Munstead lavender, Autumn fern, and Black-eyed Susan.
