Notes

'Celebration' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Celebration') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The large, fragrant, deep rose flowers open in late spring and have a center of small, finely cut petals that gives them an airy look. Stiff stems hold the blooms up, and Jesse Nicholls bred it in 1964.

Pairs well with Hairy aster, Royal fern, Spanish bluebell, and Miss Kim lilac.
