Notes

'Chaklunka' peony (Paeonia 'Chaklunka') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. Its large dark red blooms have a rounded ball of petals, and the color does not burn out. The stems are thick and durable, so you do not need to stake it.

Pairs well with Dancing Queen hosta, Clustered bellflower, and Switchgrass.
