Notes

'W. E. Chaplin' rose (Rosa 'W. E. Chaplin') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full sun and loamy or clay soil. Its fragrant dark red flowers open in late spring, again in summer, and into early autumn, and bees visit them. Chaplin Bros. bred it in 1929.

Pairs well with Limelight hydrangea, Niobe clematis, Woolly yarrow, and Japanese forest grass.
