Notes

'Charles Verdier' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Charles Verdier') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Jacques Calot bred it. The full double carmine-pink blooms have lilac shading and a pleasant fragrance. They open in late spring to early summer on a compact, dwarf plant.

Pairs well with Prairie dropseed, Hollyhock, and Black Hero tulip.
