Notes

'Charmaine' clematis (Clematis 'Charmaine') is a vine for containers, cottage gardens, privacy screens, and specimen use. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil. Red blooms attract butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. Raymond J. Evison bred it.

Pairs well with David garden phlox, Little bluestem, and Quick Fire panicle hydrangea.
