Notes

Cheddar pink (Dianthus gratianopolitanus) is a perennial for rock gardens, borders, containers, and ground cover. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to average, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Fragrant rose pink flowers attract butterflies and bees. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits. The evergreen blue-gray foliage forms a tidy clump that looks good in winter.

Pairs well with Creeping thyme, Blue fescue, and Gladiator ornamental onion.
