Notes

'Grandiflorus' cheddar pink (Dianthus gratianopolitanus 'Grandiflorus') is a perennial for borders, rock gardens, containers, and ground cover. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to average, sandy or loamy soil. Fragrant rose pink flowers open in spring and again in early to mid summer, and butterflies and bees visit the blooms. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. It forms a clumping mound that spreads 12 to 24 inches.

Pairs well with Gladiator ornamental onion, Standing Ovation little bluestem, and Blue Star common juniper.
