Notes

'Cheerful Charlie' peony (Paeonia 'Cheerful Charlie') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. The light yellow blooms have red shading, open in early to late spring, and attract butterflies. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. Derek Irvine bred it.

Pairs well with Earth Angel hosta, Green Spice coral bells, and Damask rose.
