Notes

'Cherry Bomb' peony (Paeonia 'Cherry Bomb') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The red double flowers are 6 inches wide and have a light fragrance. Sturdy stems reach 32 inches, so you do not need to stake them. Butterflies and bees visit the blooms.

Pairs well with Blue Mouse Ears hosta, Clustered bellflower, and Prairie dropseed.
