Notes

'Cherry Ruffles' peony (Paeonia 'Cherry Ruffles') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Semi-double cherry scarlet blooms have many ruffled petals around a small center of yellow stamens. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. The flowers have a mild fragrance, and the compact bush stands about 28 in tall with strong stems.

Pairs well with Blue Mouse Ears hosta, Clustered bellflower, and Prairie dropseed.
