Notes

'Cherry Welcome' peony (Paeonia 'Cherry Welcome') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The fragrant, semi-double flowers open pinkish purple, then turn purplish red, and they attract butterflies and bees. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. The upright plant grows 31 to 35 inches tall.

Pairs well with Perennial candytuft, Nodding onion, Blue grama, and Blazing star.
