Notes

'Chicago' common hyacinth (Hyacinthus orientalis 'Chicago') is a bulb for borders, containers, and rock gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It bears fragrant blue-violet flowers from early to late spring, and bees visit them. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. Zonneveld bred it.

Pairs well with Black Parrot tulip, Rainforest Sunrise hosta, and Cinnamon fern.
