Notes

'China Doll' dianthus (Dianthus 'China Doll') is a perennial for borders, rock gardens, containers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to average, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It blooms in early to late spring and again in early to late summer, and the fragrant flowers draw butterflies and bees. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. Its drought tolerance suits dry spots.

Pairs well with Creeping thyme, Lamb’s ear, and Blue fescue.
