Notes

'Neon Star' carnation (Dianthus 'Neon Star') is a perennial for borders, containers, cottage gardens, and rock gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to average soil of most types. It blooms in spring and again in summer, and butterflies and bees visit the fragrant flowers. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. The foliage is evergreen, so the plant keeps its leaves through winter.

Pairs well with Tussock bellflower, Lavender, and Magnus coneflower.
