Notes

'Kahori' carnation (Dianthus 'Kahori') is a perennial for borders, containers, cottage gardens, and rock gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to average, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. It grows 6 to 12 inches tall and bears fragrant, rosy pink flowers in spring and again in summer. Butterflies and bees visit the blooms.

Pairs well with Blue fescue, Carnaval De Nice tulip, and Shirley Temple peony.
