Notes

'Frosty Fire' carnation (Dianthus 'Frosty Fire') is a perennial for borders, rock gardens, containers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to average soil of most types. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. It stays low at 6 to 9 inches tall and keeps its foliage through winter. Fragrant flowers draw butterflies and bees.

Pairs well with Deep Blue Clips tussock bellflower, Lavender, and Early Sunrise largeflower tickseed.
