Notes

Chinese hawthorn (Crataegus pinnatifida) is a tree for borders, hedges, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows at a moderate rate and stays erect. Its white flowers draw butterflies, bees, and birds. It also tolerates drought, so it needs little care once settled.

Pairs well with Japanese maple, Rose of sharon, Blue mistflower, and Ornamental onion.
