Notes

'Chiyo-no-tomo' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Chiyo-no-tomo') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The name 'Chiyo-no-tomo' means Eternal Friend. Sakata and Company introduced it in 1931. You can cut stems to bring indoors, or let the shrub anchor a sunny border.

Pairs well with Incrediball hydrangea, Switchgrass, and Monkshood.
