Notes

'Chocolate' lemon mint (Mentha piperita 'Chocolate') is a perennial for ground cover, rain gardens, and naturalized areas. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to wet soil. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. It grows 12 to 24 inches tall and wide, so give it room. Lavender flowers open in mid to late summer.

Pairs well with Golden club, Sedge, Ostrich fern, and Oakleaf hydrangea.
