Notes

'Chocolate Mousse' peony (Paeonia 'Chocolate Mousse') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Dark chocolate-red semi-double to double flowers open in midseason and carry a subtle fragrance. The upright plants reach about 40 inches tall and need no support. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. Swenson Gardens bred it.

Pairs well with Krossa Regal hosta, Goldsturm black-eyed Susan, and Blonde Ambition blue grama.
