Notes
'Clémentine Gillot' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Clémentine Gillot') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its large deep pink blooms have white highlights and a mauve center. The flowers open in late spring and age to violet-red. Crousse bred it in 1885, and the stems are long and strong.
Pairs well with Wild geranium, Blonde Ambition blue grama, and Black Parrot tulip.
